Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2015

We at Haute Vault, LLC have created this Privacy Policy because we know you care about how information you provide us is used and shared. This Privacy Policy describes how we gather information from you when you visit our web site located at www.hautevault.com (the “Site”), and how we may use and share that information. By visiting the Site, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Personally Non-Identifiable Information. We may automatically collect personally non-identifiable information when you visit the Site, such as your network location, the IP address of your computer, and what sections of the Site you visit.

The Site may use “cookie” technology to help us collect other personally non-identifiable information and to enhance your experience using the Site. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information. Cookies are small packets of data that a web site stores on your computer’s hard drive so that your computer will “remember” information about your visit. We may use both session and persistent cookies. A session cookie expires when you close your browser; a persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an expended period of time. You can reject cookies by following the directions provided in your Internet provider’s “help” file. If you reject cookies, you may still use the Site, but your ability to use some areas of the Site will be limited.

The Site may also use “clear gif” technology, commonly known as web beacons, which help us manage content on the Site by tracking what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web site users. Unlike cookies, which can be stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence.

We may allow third parties to (i) monitor the Site for the purpose of reporting website traffic, statistics, keywords, advertisements, “click-throughs” and/or other activities, (ii) collect user related data by placing code on the Site, cookies on user devices, and using web beacons or other monitoring technologies; and (iii) retain and use such data to personalize or target advertisements and for other commercial purposes. These third party activities are not governed by this Privacy Policy, but by the privacy policy of the applicable third party.

Personally Identifiable Information. We do not collect your name, address or other personally identifiable information (“Personal Data”) from you when you visit the Site unless you voluntarily provide us with such information (for example, when you register with us and create a user name and password, or when you contact us via email).

In order to use some features of the Site, you must first register with us and create a user name and password. During the registration process, you are required to provide us with certain Personal Data (such as your name, email address and zip code). We use this Personal Data to contact you about the products and services on the Site for which you have registered and to provide such products and services to you.

If you order a product or service from us, we request certain Personal Data (such as a credit card number, expiration date, billing address, date of birth, and truncated version of your Social Security number) from you. We use this information to permit our third party service provider(s) to conduct credit and background checks, for billing purposes, and to fill your orders.

How We Use Your Information. We may use your Personal Data in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. If you provide Personal Data for a certain reason, we may use such Personal Data in connection with the reason for which it was provided. For instance, we will use Personal Data to administer access to the Site and to respond to submissions made to the Site; complete product orders and respond to other inquires, and provide you with additional information about our products and services; and permit third parties to use Personal Data to provide you with promotional material about their products or services. You may opt out of receiving personalized promotions from third parties as set forth below (see “Your Choices”).

We may also use your Personal Data and personally non-identifiable information collected through the Site to help us improve the Content and functionality of the Site, to better understand the end users of the Site and to provide and improve our products and services.

If we intend on using any of your Personal Data in any manner that is not consistent with this Privacy Policy, you will be informed of such anticipated use prior to or at the time at which the Personal Data is collected.

Sharing of Your Information. We are not in the business of selling your information. We consider this information to be a vital part of our relationship with you. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data with certain third parties without notice to you including (i) to service providers, (ii) if we are required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend our rights or property, act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Site or the public, or protect against legal liability, and/or (iii) in the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event involving our company, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets.

Aggregated Personal Data. In an ongoing effort to better understand the users of the Site, we may de-identify your Personal Data and combine it with data from other users in aggregate form. This aggregate information does not identify you personally. We may share this aggregate data with its affiliates, agents, advertisers, manufacturers and business partners. We may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
